We closed out the 2012 year with an amazing Holiday Lights Ride looping from The Bruery located in Placentia through the streets of Fullerton into the Eagle Hills neighborhood of Brea where we were treated with miles of beautifully decorated homes. Even with the chance of showers that evening, we still had a good turn out with about 13 riders who joined us on this special evening ride. The event brought out all levels of riders with their fun decorated bicycles with garlands and lights. We were also honored to have the head brewmaster of The Bruery join us on the ride as well!
Rain, Rain, go away! Come again....NEVER! Another successful Brewcyclers ride in the books. The past few days, we've had quite the wet weather with no dryness in sight. After having test rode our Stone Brewery Co loop ride on a beautiful sunny afternoon a couple weeks earlier, we were extremely excited for this event, so canceling it due to Mother Nature's horrible timing would have been a huge disappointment. But this time, Mother Nature was on our side! On the morning of our ride, we were excited to see that the weather forecast predicted sunny with few clouds and 1 to 20% chance of precipitation, depending on which “weather guesser” site you looked at. Although, with the rain falling throughout the evening, we had to double check a short dirt path along the route to make sure it wasn't affected by the wetness prior to the ride, luckily it wasn't, otherwise we would have had to plan a re-route.

Our first Brewcyclers ride has wrapped up and just as quickly as it passed, we are already working hard on preparing for our future rides. We have to admit, we did not expect such a big crowd for our first ride and as much as we hate to admit it....we weren't exactly prepared for it. We both had the opportunity to test ride the route prior to the event so we knew what to expect and made some minor adjustments to the route to better suit our needs.
